Fall Open House is coming up!

Don’t forget to join us on Monday, August 31, from 6:00–7:30 PM for our Fall Open House!

Come meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, and learn more about the upcoming school year, classroom expectations, goals, and more.

The countdown to a brand-new school year is officially on! School begins in just a few short weeks, and now is the perfect time to start getting ready.

Check out the suggested school supply lists for each grade level to help your child start the year prepared and ready to learn. We can't wait to welcome our returning families and meet our newest families soon!

Headed to German Fest - A Milwaukee Tradition this weekend? Be sure to come and visit with your MGIS family! MGIS will be at the the children's activity area, as well as the cultural tent at the north end of the grounds. Be sure to also stop by the Spanferkel booth to help support MGIS!

Be sure to join us on Saturday for the parade - all school families are welcome to join in the fun and show off your MGIS pride!

After the parade, be sure to head to the Briggs and Stratton stage watch the MGIS Tanzgruppe perform!

If you have not yet taken the time to do so, please consider signing up for a shift or two at German Fest. We are still in need of volunteers, especially for the Spanferkel Booth!

Every hour you volunteer results in a donation from German Fest back to MGIS, making it a fun and meaningful way to support our school. It's also a wonderful opportunity to increase our visibility within the community, connect with members of Milwaukee's German community, and share the many great things happening at MGIS!

On our last day of school, members of the MSL Class of 2026 (MGIS Class of 2019) returned to where their journey began.

The graduating seniors joined our 5th grade students for the traditional end of the year walkthrough before exploring the building one last time. Their visit ended in the library, where they gathered for one last story, read by Frau Heck.

It was a special full-circle moment, celebrating how far these students have come while reminding us that MGIS will always be part of their story.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We are so proud of you and wish you all the best in your next chapter.
