🚨 Early Childhood Providers — Please Vote Today! 🗳️

If you work in early childhood education or own a child care program, today’s Wisconsin primary election matters to you.

The decisions made by our elected officials directly impact child care funding, operational standards, workforce support, and the ability of programs across Wisconsin to remain open and serve children and families.

Here are a few reasons I believe it’s especially important for early childhood providers to vote:

💰 Child care funding matters. State lawmakers will be making decisions that can directly affect the resources available to child care programs and the families we serve.

🏛️ The next legislative session matters. Lawmakers are currently developing proposals for the upcoming legislative session. Our votes give us an opportunity to hold elected officials accountable for the decisions they make on issues affecting early childhood—including child care stabilization funding and other investments in our field.

⚠️ Stabilization funding has changed. Pandemic-era state stabilization bridge payments expired on June 30, 2026. Without a permanent state-funded replacement, there are serious concerns about what continued funding challenges could mean for child care providers, including programs potentially having to reduce services or close.

👶🏽 This is about more than us. It’s about the children we care for, the families who depend on us, the educators who deserve to be supported, and the future of early childhood education in Wisconsin.

So please take some time today to research the candidates and the issues, know what’s on your ballot, and VOTE.

You don’t have to agree with me on who you support. That’s your business. But I do believe we need to use our voices and make sure the people making decisions about our profession know that early childhood providers are paying attention.
