Our Girls Let’s Build put their engineering skills to the test by building and testing popsicle stick bridges β€” and the results were impressive! πŸŒ‰βœ¨
Each bridge consistently held over 53 pounds, showing just how strong and creative their structural designs were. From planning and construction to testing durability, our girls demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world engineering skills in action. We are so proud of their hard work and innovation! πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ‘·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

ELL (English Language Learners) were introduced to their weekly Word... Of... The... DAY! - Talkative. They learned the definition, wrote sentences with talkative, and also learned the synonyms of talkative, e.g. chatty, voluble, loquacious, wordy, and garrulous. The assignment was to come up with creative ways to practice their word as much as possible and then share it in class - a whole class experience!

Milwaukee teens are speaking up β€” and city leaders are listening. πŸ’¬πŸ’™

Our Journey House youth recently had the opportunity to connect with Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Police Chief Jeffrey Norman, Office of Community Wellness and Safety Director Karin Tyler, and other community leaders during β€œReal Talk with 414,” hosted by United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee (UNCOM). The powerful conversation focused on violence prevention, teen safety, mentorship, and creating positive opportunities for young people across Milwaukee.

Moments like these remind us of the importance of giving youth a seat at the table and investing in the next generation of leaders. We are proud to see our young people represented in these important conversations, building relationships, sharing their voices, and helping shape a safer, stronger community for everyone.

Thank you to the leaders, mentors, and organizations who continue to support and empower Milwaukee’s youth. 🌟

Sometimes the best financial literacy lesson is learning to invest in experiences.

Took a quick break from Financial Literacy Month with the young men of Kingdom Prep to go rock climbing. It was a fun, engaging opportunity to step outside the classroom, challenge themselves, build confidence, and experience something new.
