Ms. Mary's ABE class requires intensive 1-to-1 tutor support for each student. As you can see here, not everyone has that support. We're actively in search of empathetic individuals who are passionate about education, to volunteer their time to help these students.
If this is something you could see yourself doing, please fill out our volunteer form: https://forms.gle/Vhb8WrkjJavQvEE88
Change starts with us, and it starts with education.

A couple weeks ago we had a packed class for the BMO Harris Bank Financial Literacy class here at the ALC, where our students learned A LOT about credit.

The Adult Learning Center relies on donations to fund our GED programming and student support services. A gift of any size provides significant support for direct services such as teachers’ salaries and educational materials, as well as removing barriers to attendance by offering students assistance with issues like transportation and acquiring hardware for online classes. Please consider a one-time or recurring donation, and share this fundraiser with your friends and family today!

Just had a really cool Thanksgiving celebration here at the ALC; complete with prayers, music, poetry, a quiz and snacks. It truly is a family here. Pictured here is Ms. Mary's ABE class and some of her students doing a Thanksgiving prayer. What are some things that you're grateful for this holiday?
Also, school is out for the rest of the week, so we'll see you all next Monday, and we hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

Students and tutors are hard at work over here in Ms. Mary's class right now. No matter how cold it is outside, they're determined to learn and get their GEDs.

Here we have one of our students, Morris, and service learner Melody, working together on an assignment in our ABE class. Service learners are students who come from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Marquette University to help tutor students through their classes.
We rely on our volunteers’ time to make sure that students get the 1-on-1 help that they need to obtain their GEDs. If you’d like to volunteer your time and help change the lives of our students in real ways, you can! Link in bio.
