More and more research is showing that technology in the classroom can actually set children back. From reduced attention spans to diminished social skills and creativity, screens are changing how students learn, and not always for the better.

Children thrive through hands-on experiences, movement, face-to-face connection, and time in the natural world. When we replace those moments with screens, we risk losing something essential in their development.

Our children deserve an education that nurtures their curiosity, creativity, and humanity—not just their ability to navigate a screen.

Don't take it just from us. Listen here for more on this topic:

We’re proud to celebrate a Tamarack Waldorf alum making a powerful difference in our community!

Ingrid Melzer, a 2023 Tamarack Waldorf School graduate, is making waves across Milwaukee Public Schools. Recently featured in the news, Ingrid helped lead an effort to provide free feminine hygiene products to students at her high school.
As student council president, Ingrid—alongside student council secretary Adasia Ward—launched a program that was so successful it’s now expanding to other middle and high schools across the MPS district.
Way to lead with compassion, courage, and impact, Ingrid! 💛
