MFIS congratulates Pablo Hamideh on his academic achievement! He participated earlier this spring at the regional geography bee put on by International Geography Bee. The International Geography Bee was founded in 2016 to give students around the world a chance to compete at the regional, national, and global levels in an academic competition testing comprehensive knowledge of world geography. Pablo did well at the regional competition and qualified for the national competition. National competition took place this weekend in Orlando, Florida. Pablo not only completed in the national geography competition, he also did a side quest while there on flags and maps and took 3rd place in the nation. In the national geography bee, he made it all the way to finals and took 6th place in the nation! There were 115 fourth graders! Bravo to Pablo. Way to represent MFIS, MPS and the state of Wisconsin!

Last week, our 5th graders concluded their Junior Docent Program at the Milwaukee Art Museum with their graduation. Students chose an artwork from the museum a couple of weeks ago and used art class time to create works inspired by their chosen pieces. Students also researched their work and gave presentations about the museum piece and their own creations to their peers, families, and docents at the museum. Congratulations to all of the students on completing the program!
