MANGA FEST
On April 29, thirteen students joined Ms. Raasch for an exciting day at MPS Manga Fest at North Division, where they gathered with other manga & anime fans from across the district. District Librarians created this special event with a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, trivia, swag, and free books for all attendees! Our
very own Adrien Leonard was the WINNER of the Cosplay Competition, judged by a local cosplay artist, Alex Poole.

END OF THE YEAR BASH
What An Amazing Party! Thank you to everyone that came out and shared food and fun. Such a great turnout - even Bucky, our school Pioneer joined us! A wonderful way to celebrate the end of another school year.

COMMUNITY DAY
During this year’s Community Day students took part in a number of different activities such as blanket making for the Humane Society, cleanup at local parks and on our school grounds, assisting at Feeding America, playing music at a local nursing home, from garden maintenance, flower planting, science material maintenance, library inventory and more. The day ends with a little recess time, a pep rally celebrating spring sports, and a teacher vs student dodgeball game.

MACDOWELL FUN RUN
Our very first Fun Run was a success! We had 82 students register and we raised $1515 in pledges. It was a beautiful day to complete a series of 11 challenges including the Floor is Lava, tug of war, axe throwing, freeze dance, bottle flipping, hula hoop pass and more. Thank you to everyone who came and completed the challenges and to all the volunteers who made it such a successful event. DJ Jayson was amazing! And thanks to mother nature for giving us perfect weather!

Girl Scouts Earth Day Cleanup! On Saturday May 2nd, we had scouts from all four troops at MacDowell participate in our annual Earth Day Cleanup. They painted rocks for the garden, cleaned up litter on the playground and green spaces, and helped to clear debris from the garden bed to prepare them for spring planting.
