Together with Jesuit partners at Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya, Marquette students explored health across urban, peri-urban, and rural Andean communities in Peru. Through shared learning and cultural exchange, we examined how healthcare systems, climate change, migration, violence and political unrest shape health and well-being.
We ended our journey at the breathtaking Machu Picchu, reflecting on what it means to be people for and with others in a complex and interconnected world.

If youโre in town this summer, you may have walked by Straz and wondered, โwhat is that?โ
This is โStandtune,โ a sculpture from Lithuanian artist Augustus Serapinas, and itโs part of the Sculpture Milwaukee Power of the Margins exhibit. Itโs presented in collaboration with the Haggerty Museum of Art, as well as institutions in Latvia and Lithuania, and is being hosted on our campus.

Each year, Marquette recognizes employees who have served the university for 25 years or more, and Dr. Haglund is now part of this select group.

Years after the pandemic, some Wisconsin hospitals are only now receiving reimbursement for their response to COVID-19.
Dr. Lisa Grabert, professor of research in the college, spoke with Wisconsin Public Radio about the causes of the problem and the necessity of federal support for state hospital systems.
