Environmental sustainability is emphasized in every aspect of a child’s experience at Nestling House - the food they eat, the toys and materials they play with, and the hands-on activities they engage in.

✨TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Ms. Loryn✨

Loryn joined Nestling House in September 2019. She earned a B.A. in History from UWM in 2009. Prior to joining Nestling House, Loryn worked at Marquette University Child Care Center for over a decade, a majority of that time as an infant teacher. She grew up in Bay View with two younger siblings where she resides to this day with her husband Al, and their pets, Wyle and Willa, who is with her family in spirit. She enjoys board games, video games, and making crafts! Loryn is a big proponent of children learning through play and by watching the adults around them. She very much wants the children in her care to feel safe and loved for who they are as individuals. Loryn is the heart and soul of NH and we have no clue where we would be without her hard work and dedication.

Chippy's, an up-and-coming kid's store in Milwaukee, is officially open! Owned and operated by two local moms, Chippy's offers an array of toys, gifts, crafts, and hands-on activities for families and kids of every age. Please check out their website and join us in celebrating at their opening event. Here is a message from the owners of Chippy's:

✨TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Mr. John✨

Mr. John joined Nestling House in January 2022 as our resident chef for both centers. He is a retired MPS Chemistry Teacher and veteran College for Kids instructor. Mr. John studied Ecology and Evolution at Earlham College, SUNY Stony Brook, and Indiana University. He grew up on the East Side of Milwaukee and now resides in Bay View with his wife. His hobbies include exploring and relaxing in nature. In his own words, “I support children in their work by the bellyful.”

It is always a joy to see the children (and teachers) light up when they see Mr. John's food entering the room. We are so lucky to have such a talented chef tastefully preparing each meal and ensuring that each member of our center is able to enjoy them. Thank you for all you do, Mr. John!

✨TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Ms. Janelle✨

Janelle originally joined Nestling House in September of 2018, and, after leaving at the end of 2019, returned in January of 2023 and became our enrollment/financial specialist. She earned an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from UC Denver, and a B.A. in philosophy from NYU. She has over five years of experience in formal group-care settings and over a decade including babysitting and nannying. Additionally, she taught English in China for a year to children three years old and older. She is especially interested in and passionate about outdoor play and risky play. Janelle believes that in the care of trusted adults, children feel safe and have the confidence to explore their environment and learn! Janelle grew up in Texas and moved to the Milwaukee area in 2018. She, her husband Calvin, her daughter, Ramona, and their dog, Nessie, now live in the Hawthorn Glen neighborhood. She enjoys live music, knitting, camping, cooking, and traveling.

We are so lucky to have Ms. Janelle on our team!

✨Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Lindsay✨
Ms. Lindsay is the licensing coordinator at NH and has been a team member for 5 years. She has over seven years of experience with children of her own as well as having started an in-home daycare during the pandemic. Lindsay believe strongly in the power of nurturing and responsive care to build strong and positive attachment relationships. She is a big proponent of nature play, free play, and individualized interest exploration, and appreciates the value of including children in caretaking routines to help foster independence and self-confidence. Additionally, she aims to offer a safe place to get creative, messy and be a kid! Lindsay is originally from Waukesha. She moved to Bay View in 2017 where she now lives with her husband, kids, mother-in-law, and dog. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, puzzles, yoga, hiking, and visiting northern Wisconsin.

✨Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Addie✨

Ms. Addie is another one of our Camp Counselors that has returned to Summer Camp this year! Ms. Addie is currently a senior at Butler University in Indiana, where she majors in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Her ultimate goal is to be a children's Speech Pathologist! Ms. Addie has a passion for working with children and loves spending her summers having tons of fun with the NH Summer Camp kids. In her free time, Ms. Addie loves working out and spending time with her family and friends.

✨Teacher Spotlight: *DIRECTOR EDITION* Ms. Ella✨

Ms. Ella joined Nestling House in September of 2025 as the director of our Herman Location. She has been working with children for 8 years, in licensed centers and nannying. With a Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology, Ms. Ella is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on children and adolescents. She values supporting each child’s developing independence and individuality through play, creative exploration, and real-life experiences. She strives to build trusting relationships that help children feel safe, capable, and inspired to explore the world around them. In her free time, Ms. Ella enjoys painting, singing, and spending time with her pets (a dog, Olive, a cat, Gus, and a hamster, Sprinkles).

Nestling House is so happy to have Ms. Ella on our team!

✨Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Sebastian✨

Mr. Sebastian joined the Nestling House team in the beginning of the 2025 school year as a floating assistant teacher and has now transitioned to Co-Lead the Cardinal classroom. He is a huge proponent of Montessori education, especially for our youngest minds, thoroughly believing child-led education is the best way to meet individual, and group developmental goals. Mr. Sebastian has his Associate Degree in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Through this, he was enamored with teaching and guiding children in the zero to four age range, and now bring that same enthusiasm to Nestling House everyday. Outside of work, he likes to cook with his husband, snuggle his cats and dog, and make bead crafts.

We are so lucky to have Mr. Sebastian is on the NH team!

✨Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Adal✨

Mr. Adal is one of our returning camp counselors at Nestling House's Summer Camp Program. Mr. Adal has his degree from UWM and, during the school year, is a Bilingual Social Studies teacher at Riverside Highschool. He is passionate about making everyday at camp feel like a vacation where children can have fun without needing technology. When Mr. Adal is not at camp he spends time with his cat, playing soccer and watching tv series.

We are so grateful that Mr. Adal has come back to Summer Camp, we are so lucky to have him at Nestling House!
