MCW will be participating in the statewide tornado drill at 1:45pm tomorrow, April 10. During the drill, employees and students on the Milwaukee campus are asked to practice their response to severe weather/tornado alarm tones and proceed to their shelter-in-place locations. The building’s alarm system will sound for approximately three (3) minutes.
In addition, a second statewide tornado drill will occur at 6:45pm tomorrow. MCW will not be activating the building's alarm system during this drill. For more information, visit: https://infoscope.mcw.edu/NewsCenter/MCWNews/Severe-weather-drill-scheduled-for-Thursday-April-10.htm

Pets also need extra care when the temperatures fall. They should be brought inside when the temperature reaches 30˚F with wind chill. Dogs and cats can get frost-bitten ears, nose and feet if left outside during bitter cold weather. Chemicals used to melt snow, and ice can also irritate pets’ paws – be sure to keep anti-freeze, salt and other poisons away from pets.

Our partners at MCW Clinical Risk Management continue to hear of providers receiving high pressure cell phone calls from callers who appear to be calling from a legitimate governmental number (they’re not, it’s a spoofed number) and who claim to be from the DSPS/DEA/FBI/Police, etc. They give a name and badge number and will claim there is an issue with your medical license, subpoena non-appearance, NPI number, etc. Regardless of what the caller says, please know that neither Law Enforcement nor DEA personnel will ever contact anyone by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment, nor will they ask for any personal or sensitive information over the phone.
