Our Asian Tonic Syrup recipe is up on our web-site and on the CocktailDudes YouTube channel. Eschewing the traditional Cinchona Bark (Quinine) bitter, here we utilize two bitter elements common in Chinese medicine: Bupleurum and Gentian. Use the Syrup to make our unbelievably delicious Asian Gin & Tonic. Check it out! Cheers!

I'm excited to have tracked down - at long last - a true First Edition of the first cocktail book published in the United States. "How to Mix Drinks, or The Bon-Vivants Companion," by Jerry Thomas. 1862. Later called "The Bartender's Guide." There were three issues of the first edition, all emblazoned with the embossed price on the front cover: "$1.50," "$2.00," and later "$2.50." This is a "$1.50" book with the original title. The spine will need professional attention, but I aim to keep it as original and unrestored as practicable. Cheers!

Excited to have tracked down a beautiful Robert Jones & Son corkscrew with threaded steel shank and cork spikes. This is the first British Registered Design (No. 423) for a corkscrew. It is stamped "8th October 1840" and "VšR" (Victoria Regina).
Before pe*******on of the worm, the tube is lowered, and the two spikes are pushed into the cork to stabilize the corkscrew. The frame rests on the neck of the bottle and assists in centering the worm into the cork. Pe*******on of the worm is stopped when the inner threaded shaft is screwed into the tube. The spikes and worm then firmly grip the cork and turning of the handle causes rotation of the cork, disrupting the adhesions of the cork with the bottle. Continuing the rotary action with a slight upward pull extracts the cork.

Cracking a pair of Springbank granddads tonight. The 30 yo Murray, McDavid and the 30 yo Blackadder bottlings. Both distilled in 1965. Could this be a prelude to something even more special...???

Stoked to have finally found this beautiful antique French lemon juicer to add to our hand-held citrus press collection. Insert the halved lemon into the head, and juice by turning the screw. Not the most practical tool for behind the bar, but we'll find use for it nonetheless. Silver. circa 1888. Cheers!

Curious to see what all the fuss is about, we stopped by to meet the alchemists at Madison's State Line Distillery. Impressed by their clear spirits, we anticipate grand things emerging from their barrels in the years ahead! Bravo!
