Dr. Noor Abdalla, the wife of Mahmoud Khalil, has just given birth to her and Mahmoud’s child. Mahmoud had hoped to be free by the time Noor delivered, but remains in ICE detention in Louisiana and was unable to be present.

Noor’s statement from today reads: “I welcomed our so into the world earlier today without Mahmoud by my side. Despite our request for ICE to allow Mahmoud to attend the birth, they denied his temporary release to Emet our son. This was a purposeful decision by ICE to make me, Mahmoud, and our son suffer.

Mahmoud remains unjustly detained in an ICE detention center over 1,000 miles away from his firstborn child. My son and I should not be navigating his first days on earth without Mahmoud. ICE and the Trump administration have stolen these precious moments from our family in an attempt to silence Mahmoud’s support for Palestinian freedom.

I will continue to fight every day for Mahmoud to come home to us. I know when Mahmoud is freed, he will show our son how to be brave, thoughtful, and compassionate, just like his dad.”

Join us for this new series of where we explore the profound characteristics of Allah's close servants as laid out at the end of Surah al-Furqan. Our goal is to cover 1-2 traits per session so we can truly embrace and adorn ourselves with these qualities.

The series launch is the coming Wednesday at 6:30PM with Ust Faisal Khetani and Sh Ameer. Babysitting is available. Refreshments will be provided.
