The Alverno chapter of the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is part of a
national organization of successful communicators, who remain committed to the founding
principles:
• Unite members for the purpose of promoting the advancement of women in all fields of
communications;
• To work for the First Amendment rights and responsibilities of communicators;
• To recognize distinguis

hed, professional achievements; and
• To promote high professional standards throughout the communications industry. We also:
• Provide networking opportunities for members - especially first and second year students.
• Promote communication skills in ALL fields of study.
• Bring awareness to the importance of clear communication.
• Promote community involvement through communication awareness. The AWC is open to ALL students of ALL majors of study.
