Science is exploding with fun! Our young scientists got hands-on with an exciting volcano experiment, mixing baking soda and vinegar to create their own mini eruptions. Learning about chemical reactions has never been this fun (or messy)! Swipe to see their reactions.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: This picture we found of children at our Nature Center's maple sugar program from 1980 looks like it could have been taken today! 45 years later, we continue to inspire discovery about this process, as well as the importance of nature in general.

Oh, are we going to miss our students who have been volunteering with us these past two weeks! Whether it was helping in our early childhood classrooms or assisting with our maple sugar program at our Nature Center, they really became part of our family. Today was their last day with us — we wish them well and hope their time with us was as fruitful for them as it was for us.

Our maple sugar program at the Nature Center is in full swing! We hosted quite a few schools this week to come and learn about the maple sugaring process. On Wednesday, close to 50 K-4 children came to tap some trees, taste some sap and have some fun!

If you and your family want to come to our maple sugar program at the Nature Center, tomorrow is FAMILY MAPLE SUGAR DAY at the Nature Center! Bring your family and join us tomorrow, Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for this FREE event!

What a beautiful day! Our volunteers and our Butterfly and Grey Squirrel classrooms got to enjoy the weather together this morning during playtime! Hide and seek, playing on the playground, looking at airplanes in the sky — the kids had a lot of fun with their new friends!

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY
In addition to being Neighborhood House of Milwaukee’s Accounting Assistant, Keisha White may be the first smiling, friendly face you see when you come to Neighborhood House of Milwaukee, as she frequently helps greet people at our front desk. Keisha shares what she loves most about her job:

“What inspires me about Neighborhood House of Milwaukee is the family element of the organization. I am amazed to learn that a lot of the parents that come in with their children now once attended here as children as well. “

“The educators and staff are incredible individuals and are a pleasure to work with. The best parts of my day are when the children — toddlers to teens — say hello or wave to me when they come in. Neighborhood House of Milwaukee has a sense of community and family that I have not previously experienced at prior workplaces.”
