At UWM, there are so many ways to succeed. Read about how the Flex Program was the perfect fit for Biomedical Sciences student Amanda Kauffman.
Amanda Kauffman, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Biomedical Health Sciences student with hearing loss, struggled with the impediments of university lecture halls. Classrooms were often too noisy or she had a tough time reading the lips of constantly moving professors.
Even after accommodations, her needs were not being met.
That's when she switched to the University of Wisconsin Flexible Option, where she can take her courses at her own pace, rewind course lecture videos to hear information she may have missed, and study in the peace and quiet of her own home.
“I really think people who struggle in a classroom setting should really consider a program like this.”
