Leadership is the strongest when people don't have to hide who they are.

Pride month is a celebration of identity, courage, and community. It is also a reminder that leadership looks different for everyone.

At IWL, we believe people thrive when they can show up as their full selves, bring their lived experiences to the table and know they belong.

This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the many ways they contribute to our campus, workplaces, and communities.

What does belonging look like to you?

Nobody talks enough about how leadership can exhaust you if you never learn to choose yourself too.

A while ago, Lurit from IWL's Student Advisory Board spoke at Marquette Office of Inclusion & Belonging Black Women Rock Brunch about navigating leadership, school, responsibility , and the ongoing process of learning balance (if that realistically exists).

Not the polished version. The real version.

The kind many students quietly carry while trying to succeed, show up for others, and still take care of themselves too.

We're proud to see students use there voice in ways that are honest thoughtful , and rooted in growth.

And we're excited to see where Lurit continues to lead next.

Thankful to Dr. Byrd, Kari Lewis, LPC , and Makayla for this great event.

Last night, the room came together.

The IWL Gala brought together leaders, advocates, and community to center women in athletics and the power of representation, leadership, and action.

More than an event, it was a space for connection, reflection, and recognition.

Grateful to everyone who showed up and contributed to the energy in the room.

Photos and highlights coming soon!
