ACT UPDATE

The June 13, 2020 ACT has been rescheduled for many testing sites across the country (and, of course, in Wisconsin as well).

It appears that the majority of schools at which my current students are scheduled to test are rescheduling the June ACT. I have not found contingency dates for the rescheduled June test, however.

I will be reaching out to every student personally and we will do our best together to determine a course of action that works for each student.

Per the ACT website:

"During the week of May 26, we will notify students and announce all test center closings and cancelations for the June 13 test date. However, as ACT and other agencies navigate ongoing developments, testing at any test center is subject to change at any time between now and June 13, 2020."

It is my understanding some schools are going to host the test and other schools are not. I will continue to monitor the situation : )

As of today, the June 13, 2020 ACT examination appears to being going on as scheduled. It would follow that the July 18,2020 is to be held as well.

Yesterday, the UW system announced it is not requiring the ACT for applications in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years*. That is, submission of test scores will be voluntary.

My reading of that announcement is: ACT scores will continue to be considered for all applications across the UW system. The scores are simply not requisite.

I will continue to closely monitor the situation, of course.

* UW-Madison will still require the test for applications.
