“My house shall be called the house of prayer.” — Matthew 21:13
As we journey closer to Easter, we pause to reflect on a powerful moment in Jesus’ final week before the cross — His righteous indignation in the temple.
When Jesus entered the temple courts, He did not find a place of worship, intercession, or reverence. Instead, He found a marketplace — a place where greed, corruption, and distraction had taken root. With authority and holy zeal, He overturned the tables of the money changers and declared, “My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves” (Matthew 21:13,).
This moment was not just about the physical temple. It was a prophetic act — a call to holiness, a return to God’s design, and a reminder that worship is not about profit, performance, or appearance, but about His presence.
🙌 Today, we are the temple.
The question we must ask is this: What fills the temple of our hearts?
Is it worship or worry?
Prayer or pride?
Holiness or hidden habits?
Jesus still enters temples. He still flips tables. And He still lovingly restores what was lost — communion with the Father.
🕊️ Let this season be one of cleansing. Invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Allow Christ to drive out anything that doesn’t belong, and let Him reestablish His rightful place as the center of your life.

Lord, cleanse my heart. Remove every distraction, every idol, every sin that takes Your place. Make me a house of prayer — a temple filled with Your presence and devoted to Your purpose. Amen.
