Course Spotlight: BISC 4170 Biology, Moral Behavior, and Policy 🧠📚
BISC 4170 invites students to explore how scientific discoveries in neuroscience, genetics, psychology, and other fields can help us better understand and address complex social issues.
From examining the effects of poverty and toxic stress to discussing trust, cooperation, and decision-making, this course encourages students to think beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries and engage with some of today’s most important societal challenges.

Since joining the faculty in October 1997, Dr. Lobner has educated and mentored generations of undergraduate and graduate students while advancing our understanding of neuro degenerative diseases through his research. A proud Marquette alumnus himself, Dr. Lobner’s connection to the university spans far beyond his years as a faculty member. His dedication to teaching, mentorship, and scientific discovery has left a lasting impact on our department and the countless students whose lives he helped shape.
