Our very own Tuleen Abu Fares, 6th grader, took 3rd place in the middle school category of the UWM Women & Gender Studies “Wisconsin Women Making History” Essay Contest!

Tuleen chose to write her essay on Laurel Clark, the Wisconsin native Naval flight surgeon, who perished in the Columbia shuttle landing in 2003.

Ms. Vergin, 6th grade teacher, says, “I am so proud of her. She worked so hard and put time in with me at night so she could get it just the way she wanted it.”

Congrats (auguri) Tuleen on your success!! Continue to to be a leader for young women while being empowered by those women who shined before you. You make us proud!


Milwaukee Public Schools

Maestra Lupoli’s K5 class was able to participate in the Coccia Foundation Italian Studies Student Award program which partners with the Paragano Family Foundation in continuing the recognition of student engagement with the Italian language and culture. Students chosen using the criteria: use of the Italian language, participation, and attendance, received certificates and gifts for their excellence. Auguri!!

Special shout out to our 2020-21 valedictorian Shahd Taha and our salutatorian Rowan Aziz. You have represented yourselves and your school with pride!
