While Lincoln Avenue School teachers were getting their classrooms at Pulaski High School ready on Tuesday, they were called together for a surprise: Classroom supplies on teachers’ wish lists, assembled by the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation with the help of donor partners. The teachers had lost everything in their classrooms when fire destroyed Lincoln Avenue School on June 30. Read more here

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Milwaukee Public Schools hosted a new event in partnership with UW–Madison and All-In Milwaukee for Class of 2027 students and families who qualify for Guaranteed Admission as Top 5% students.

Of the 156 eligible students, 48 students and their families registered and attended one of two sessions held at Hamilton High School and Riverside University High School. The sessions provided students and families with information and support as they prepare to take advantage of their guaranteed admission opportunity and navigate the UW–Madison application process.

Thank you to UW–Madison and All-In Milwaukee for their continued partnership and commitment to expanding college access and opportunities for MPS students.

A workshop strives to help high-performing incoming seniors with admissions to UW-Madison. The workshop, hosted by MPS, was Aug. 18 at the Hamilton High School.
