Greater Milwaukee Foundation Supports Latino Entrepreneurial Network Human Capital Capacity Building Program.

The Latino Entrepreneurial Network of Southeastern Wisconsin is pleased to share the news that the Entrepreneurial Human Capital Capacity Building Program has received funding from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, with contributions from the Jeanette M. Winkler Fund, Elinor Gallun Pritzlaff Fund, and Halbert and Alice Kadish Fund. This generous investment of $50,000 will enable entrepreneurs and small enterprises to address the labor market challenges arising from the "great resignation" and the evolving dynamics of our diverse workforce. The program will offer technical assistance, training, and guidance to facilitate small employers' recruitment, hiring, and retention practices. Leveraging our culturally and linguistically relevant approach, we will work closely with these entrepreneurs to develop customized labor and workforce development strategies tailored to their needs.

Dr. Nelson Soler, Ph.D., the Project Director, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We are thrilled that the Greater Milwaukee Foundation continues to invest in emerging entrepreneurial ecosystems. According to the US Census 2020, Latinos constitute the largest ethnic minority in the state, comprising 7.3% of the population, with 57% calling southeastern Wisconsin their home. Despite this, Latinos often face challenges accessing social, human, and financial capital. Nevertheless, they represent one of the fastest-growing entrepreneurial sectors."
