We are so proud to celebrate our Veterans Upward Bound participants who have been accepted to college and are beginning their next chapter this Fall 2026! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to reaching your educational goals deserve to be celebrated.

We had the opportunity to recognize these amazing scholars during our Annual Recognition Ceremony where we celebrated their accomplishments and the journey that brought them here.

This year, our participants earned 36 college acceptances with a majority choosing University of Wisconsin Milwaukee! We are especially proud of the launch of our STEM summer series that gave our participants the opportunity to explore drones, AI, programming and so much more!

Congratulations to all of our Fall 2026 college-bound participants! We can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you. Keep reaching, keep believing, and keep moving forward!

What happens when education meets opportunity? Career possibilities.

Earlier this week Veterans Upward Bound brought an OSHA 10 training to veterans at the Center for Veterans Issues and created another pathway for veterans to build skills, earn valuable credentials, and prepare for what comes next. Thank you to CVI for partnering with us and providing a space where veterans can access resources, training, and opportunities designed to support their continued success.

We also welcomed a Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) specialist from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) as a guest speaker and valuable resource.

OSHA 10 is more than a safety training, it’s one piece of a larger career pathway, helping veterans explore opportunities in construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, and other industries where safety knowledge is essential. When organizations come together, we can help turn education into skills, skills into credentials, and credentials into career opportunities.

Today is the final day for our first ever OSHA 10 Training! We brought this training to the Milwaukee VA Medical Centerfor the veterans in the DCHV program. We are really excited for this partnership and can't wait to continue to provide learning opportunities for the veterans residing here.

We will have another training open to all eligible veterans at Center for Veterans Issues. Click on the link to register after submitting an application to our program!
