Hello LCA families,

Our school is taking part in the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). This survey is conducted as part of a national effort by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to monitor health risk behaviors of middle and high school students. The survey will collect data on health behaviors and will include questions that focus on alcohol and drug use, nutrition, to***co use, physical activities, intentional and unintentional injuries, sexual behaviors, bullying, and other health related topics.

Taking the survey is voluntary and students' privacy will be protected with anonymity. The survey will be done online and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please complete and return the opt-out form that was sent home. If you consent to your child participating in the survey, no action is required.

If you have any questions regarding the YRBS, please reach out to your child's teacher.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to take a moment to thank all of our Griffin Families for your continued support of our school program and expectations. Please be advised of the following updates:

STAR Testing for Student Griffins is August 30-31, 2022. The test includes measures in reading and math for all students. The results will help us determine how best to support students’ academic needs!

Students are currently completing Digital Citizenship classes in preparation for our chromebook rollout. Please check-in with your Student Griffin to ensure they are completing the lessons. Completed lessons are required before receiving chromebooks. Save the date for the STEAM Family Night our chromebook distribution event!

CLC began this week we currently have 22 students enrolled and looking to register more. Please return any completed applications to the school office or instruct students to ask any adult for the application to register.

Parents are invited to our first workshop to provide support with navigating Google Classrooms. Sign-up for an appointment between 9am – 5pm with the Parent Coordinator Ms. Nash by clicking the link here!

Masks are optional this week! Look for updates to the policy on Thursdays each week. Read about the revised MPS mask policy here!

Cell Phones are collected each morning during homebase and returned at the end of the day after intervention! We need your support!!! Click to review policy!

Parents picking up prior to 4:15 p.m. MUST report to the office to sign students out.
