🥤💚 Green Smoothie Fun in Explorers 2! 💚🥤

Today our Explorers 2 class became little chefs as they made delicious and healthy Green Smoothies! 👩🏽‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳🍏🍐
Before getting started, the children reviewed important kitchen safety rules and made sure their hands were squeaky clean. 🧼👐🏽 Then it was time to explore our healthy ingredients—pears, apples, spinach, yogurt, banana, water, and ice! 🍐🍎🍌🥬
Our Explorers were actively involved throughout the experience. They helped wash the fruit, observed as it was prepared, and took turns participating in the smoothie-making process. The children practiced listening and following directions while using words to identify and describe the different fruits and ingredients. 👂🏽🗣️✨
One of the most exciting moments was watching all of the ingredients blend together and transform into a GREEN smoothie! 💚🥤 The children were encouraged to talk about where fruits and vegetables come from, name other green leafy vegetables, and think of other yummy ingredients they could add to a smoothie. 🤔🌱🍓
And, of course, the best part was the TASTE TEST! 😋🥤 Our Explorers enjoyed trying their cold, creamy creation while learning that healthy foods can be fun and delicious too!
What a wonderful hands-on experience filled with language, listening, healthy choices, science, and FUN! 💚👏🏽

🎃🍂 Pumpkin Fun in Voyagers 3! 🍂🎃
Today our Voyagers 3 young toddlers had so much fun creating their very own pumpkins! 🧡 Using small pieces of orange construction paper, the children used their fine motor skills to pick up, position, and glue the paper pieces onto their pumpkin printouts. ✋🏽🧡🖍️
As they worked, our little learners practiced hand-eye coordination, grasping, and finger control—all important skills that help prepare those little hands for future writing, drawing, and self-help tasks. 💪🏽✏️
The children also explored the beautiful color orange while using their creativity to decorate their pumpkins. 🎨🎃 Each pumpkin turned out uniquely special, giving our toddlers an opportunity to express themselves while learning through hands-on play.
What a fun way to welcome the fall season! 🍁🍂 Our Voyagers 3 did a PUMPKIN-TASTIC job! 🎃👏🏽🧡

🔤✨ Fantastic Fun with the Letter F! ✨🔤
Today our Voyagers 6 class had a fantastic time exploring the letter F! 🐸🐟🌸 Our little learners were introduced to a variety of familiar objects that begin with the letter F, including fish, firetruck, flower, frog, fly, feather, food, fox, fan, fork, feet, and the numbers four and five! 🚒🦊🪶🍴
The children practiced making the /f/ sound while repeating the names of each object. 👄🔤 They listened carefully, identified familiar items, and practiced connecting the beginning sound to the letter F.
Then it was time for some hands-on letter fun! 🎨🔴🟡🟢 Using Dot Markers, the children dotted the letter F, filling it with colorful dots while practicing letter recognition. This fun activity also encouraged hand-eye coordination, fine-motor control, and strengthening those little hand muscles needed for future writing skills. ✋🏽💪🏽🖍️
Our Voyagers were excited to discover just how many familiar things begin with F! Through listening, repeating, identifying, and creating, they strengthened their language, comprehension, early literacy, and fine-motor skills—all while having FUN! 🥰📚✨
Way to go, Voyagers 6! You did a FANTASTIC job with the letter F! ⭐👏🏽💛

🌈🥣 Color Sorting Fun in Voyagers 2! 🥣🌈
Our Voyagers 2 class had so much fun learning through a colorful and tasty hands-on activity — Color Sort! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Using Fruit Loops cereal, our little learners practiced identifying different colors and sorting the cereal into matching color groups. The children carefully examined each piece and worked to place the yellow cereal together, the orange cereal together, the green cereal together, and so on. 🌈👏🏽

This simple activity provided BIG learning opportunities! As the children sorted, they strengthened their color recognition, classification, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and early math skills. 🧠✨ Picking up and placing each small piece of cereal also gave those little fingers a great workout! 🙌🏽

Our Voyagers 2 students were engaged, focused, and excited to see all of the colors come together. Learning is always more fun when we can explore with our hands! 💕🌈

Great job, Voyagers 2! ⭐️

🔵🔺🟨 Shape Body Fun in Young Toddlers! 🟨🔺🔵

Our Young Toddlers in Voyagers 2 had a wonderful time exploring shapes through a fun and creative “Shape Body” activity! The children were introduced to familiar shapes, including circles, squares, and triangles, as they practiced recognizing and naming each shape.

The teachers encouraged the children to choose a shape and use crayons and colorful stickers to decorate the inside. As the children worked, they strengthened their fine-motor skills by grasping crayons, peeling and placing stickers, and making marks on their chosen shapes. ✏️⭐️

The activity also provided opportunities for the children to develop their language and shape-identification skills as teachers repeated the names of the shapes and encouraged the children to identify and talk about the shapes they selected. Some children proudly pointed to their shapes while others practiced saying “circle,” “square,” or “triangle.” 🔵🟨🔺

It was wonderful to see the children make their own creative choices while exploring shapes through hands-on learning. This engaging experience supported early math development, language, creativity, and motor skills while allowing each child to express themselves through their artwork. 🎨💛

What a fun way to learn that shapes are all around us! 🌟

🎨🌈 Explorers 2 – Texture Painting 🖌️✨

Today, our Explorers 2 students had so much fun getting creative with Texture Painting! 🎨👩‍🎨👨‍🎨 The children were introduced to a variety of textured materials, including coffee grounds, cornmeal, kosher salt, and oatmeal, which they mixed with different colors of paint to create their own unique works of art. 🖼️✨

The students eagerly explored the different textures as they used small spoons to scoop, mix, and stir their chosen materials into the paint. They were fascinated by how each texture changed the look and feel of the paint! Some children carefully selected their favorite colors, while others enjoyed experimenting with multiple colors and textures to see what they could create. 🌈🥄

As they painted, the children used their brushes to make lines, swirls, patterns, and abstract designs across their paper. They were encouraged to cover their papers from edge to edge, giving each child the opportunity to express their creativity in their own special way. 🖌️💫

This experience encouraged the children to explore sensory textures, make choices, strengthen fine-motor skills, and express themselves creatively. We also talked about how people around the world different traditions, experiences, and ways of have expressing themselves through art, helping the children begin to understand that there are different groups of people and cultures in our world. 🌎❤️

The classroom was filled with curiosity, conversation, and lots of proud smiles as our young artists admired their colorful creations! 😊🎨 What a wonderful way to learn, explore, and celebrate that every masterpiece can be wonderfully unique! 🌟

🍌🍒 Bananas and Cherries: A Scented Art Experience! 🎨
Our Young Toddlers had so much fun exploring “Bananas and Cherries” through a colorful and sensory-rich art experience! The children were invited to use yellow and red scented paints to create their own banana and cherry artwork while exploring the wonderful sense of smell. 👃🎨
Before beginning, the teachers introduced pictures of bananas and cherries, giving the children an opportunity to look closely at the fruits and become familiar with their colors and shapes. The children were then introduced to the scented paints—yellow banana and red cherry. Their curiosity was evident as they smelled the different colors and reacted to the familiar scents. Some children eagerly explored the paint with their paintbrushes, while others enjoyed making lines, swirls, and colorful marks across their papers. 🖌️✨
As the children painted, teachers encouraged them to talk about what they were seeing and smelling, using simple descriptive words such as yellow, red, banana, cherry, sweet, and smell. The activity provided opportunities for the toddlers to strengthen their fine-motor skills as they grasped the paintbrushes, moved them across the paper, and experimented with different strokes and textures. 🖐️💛
The children also practiced sensory awareness by learning that our noses are for smelling and our mouths are for eating. Teachers gently reminded them that although the paint smelled like bananas and cherries, it was for creating art—not for tasting. 😊👃

🌻🥕🍎 Welcome to the Voyagers 2 Farmers Market! 🧺🌽🌸
Our Voyagers 2 class had SO much fun pretending to visit and work at a Farmers Market! 🥰👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 Ms. Bhawna took the children to our Nature Nook, where they had the wonderful opportunity to explore a garden-inspired setting filled with real and pretend foods that come from the garden. 🌱🥦🍅

The children put on their sun hats, gathered their handmade bags to gather fruit and vegetables from the Farmers Market.

Through this engaging dramatic play experience, our little farmers practiced taking on different roles, sharing ideas, listening to their friends, and working together as they negotiated who would be the farmer, shopper, or market helper. 🤝💚 Their conversations and imaginative play encouraged language development, social skills, cooperation, listening, and motor development while making meaningful connections to where our food comes from. 🌱🗣️✨

What a fun way to turn our Nature Nook into a place for growing, harvesting, sharing, and learning! 🌻🧺💛 We love watching our little learners use their imaginations to bring learning to life! 🍎🥕🌽

🍪🎨 I Am Amazing…Even in Cookie Form! 😍🍪✨
Today, our Explorers 2 friends put a delicious twist on our “Amazing Me” theme! 👧🏽👦🏼💗 Our little chefs had so much fun creating their very own Cookie Faces! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍪
After reviewing our kitchen safety rules 🧼👩‍🍳 and washing our hands, our young chefs were ready to CREATE! 🎉👏 Each child rolled, flattened, shaped, and decorated their cookie to make a face that was uniquely their own. 🤲🍪✨
👀 M&M eyes
👄 Licorice smiles
💇🏽‍♀️💇🏼‍♂️ Coconut-and-cocoa hair
😊 BIG personalities!
As they created, the children talked about what makes them special and unique. They explored their eye color 👀, hair color 💇🏽‍♂️, and whether their hair is long or short. They also discovered that while we may have similarities, every person is wonderfully different—and that is what makes us AMAZING! 🌈❤️🥰
Our Cookie Faces activity also gave our little learners opportunities to practice following two-step directions 👂➡️👣, build their vocabulary 🗣️📚, express their ideas, and recognize and talk about feelings. 😊💕
What a SWEET way to celebrate AMAZING ME! 🍪💗✨ Because there is only ONE me, and there is only ONE you—and that makes each of us AMAZING! 🌟🥰

September's Theme: Amazing Me!

This month, our classrooms are all about celebrating what makes every child unique! Through hands-on activities and the five senses, kids build confidence, strengthen bonds with their teachers, and discover just how amazing they really are.

Character Development: Our little explorers are learning to tell the difference between real and make-believe, building a foundation of honesty and integrity along the way.

Community Connection: Our classrooms are writing notes of thanks for military friends stationed overseas — spreading gratitude across the miles.

Everyday Learning: Cold season is coming! We're making handwashing a daily habit so our classrooms stay happy and healthy all fall.

Thank You for Trusting Us With Your Thriving Toddler!
From CLA-Laveen

Full Google Review - 5 Stars:
I thought about selecting 4 stars to make sure everyone knew this was genuinely a real review but, CLA deserves nothing less than 5 stars.

Our daughter has been in daycare since she was 4 months old (now 21 months old) and we have recently joined the CLA family a bit over a month ago from another facility in Laveen.

My husband and I have absolutely LOVED the experience, and our 21 month old has done nothing but thrive in their care. From the moment we walked into CLA for the tour and every day since you can feel the positive energy of each person there.

Every morning when I drop her off, I can see everyone working together to do their part to keep a high standard of cleanliness and care and I can see that everyone is genuinely happy to be there. I have only ever experienced cleanliness at their center from the front desk through to the classroom. (and with a petri-dish of a toddler for germs, I feel this is an extremely important part.)

Ms. Karina is her morning teacher, and every morning we are greeted by her with a positive, happy, upbeat attitude. The first few drop offs my daughter had a bit of a hard time and immediately Ms. Karina gently redirected her, and before I had even left, she was calmed down and happy to be there.

Ms. Natalie has been the teacher in the afternoon that we pick her up from and every single day she is bubbly, upbeat, high energy and so friendly. She gives us the full lowdown on how her day was, ups, downs, in-between lol. It has been SO refreshing that at the end of the day, every day, her teachers are still happy to be there, and aren't stressed out and fighting for their life ready to get outta there. hahaha.

To me, it's truly a testament to the working environment created for the teachers by the center director, Gissel, and also, the care and high standards she has for determining who she hires to care for our children.

I could continue on with more things beyond what I've said above, but I think I'd run out of space. If you're on the fence on where to find quality, loving care for your child I could not recommend CLA more.
