Machia Wilderness Camp Based in Milton VT, Machia Wilderness Camp offers educational outdoors adventures to kids ages 11-18.

The goal of the camp is to introduce youth to the outdoor experience. Apprentices, campers selected from previous years, assist new campers in learning skills while expanding their own knowledge and experience. All programs are led by veteran outdoorsmen and certified Vermont Hunter Education instructors.

Calcutta!!! What a great night and what a lovely way to raise money for a great organization. Make sure wilderness camp creates good stewards of the land. Many of those young apprentice folks were on display helping us run the show last night. What a privilege it is to work with so many interesting young people.

A fabulous Calcutta last night two photos: one is the incredible group of apprentices that came to help sell the 50-50 and to help facilitate the whole Calcutta with Jamie Polli, who is excellent. The other picture is the operations gang; the board plus Diane and Crystal and Ezariah, these folks that helped out behind the scenes getting the tables in and the entire infrastructure set up… and then running the whole thing.

Long Trail Day fundraising update!

With one week left until Long Trail Day, we're now two-thirds of the way to our ambitious $80,000 fundraising goal! Can you help us reach it in time for Long Trail Day on September 19?

Register to hike, and make each step count! Pick a Long Trail Day group hike or plan a hike of your own, and ask friends and family to sponsor your hike. (There are still GMC beanies for registered hikers and FREE Darn Tough socks for individual hikers who raise $272 or more.) Can't hike this year? You can still make a difference for the trails you love by donating to Long Trail Day.

September 19 isn't just when we hope to hit our fundraising goals. We'll also be on trail to celebrate this unofficial hiking holiday with group hikes, trail work parties, trail magic, and post-hike brewery celebrations up and down the Long Trail.

Long Trail Day, the unofficial holiday of the Green Mountain Club, is for everyone! Please join in the fun in whatever way you choose. See you on the trails!
