Today’s tool: The Ultrasound Machine

Ultrasound technology uses sound waves to create real-time images of structures inside the body. Healthcare professionals use it to examine organs, monitor conditions, and support diagnosis and treatment, all without using ionizing radiation.

Students in Health Science pathways are introduced to the technology and skills used in today’s healthcare industry, building knowledge in anatomy, patient care, medical terminology, and diagnostic procedures.

Hands-on experiences with healthcare technology help students connect classroom learning to real-world careers and prepare for opportunities in fields such as diagnostic medical sonography, nursing, radiology, and other healthcare professions.

Today’s tool: The Thermal Imaging Camera

When firefighters enter smoke-filled buildings, visibility is often reduced to nearly zero. Thermal imaging cameras help them "see" heat signatures through smoke, allowing them to locate people, identify hidden hot spots, and navigate dangerous environments more safely and efficiently.
