Milton High School Business Department

Today was the capstone project presentations in Entrepreneurship class. Students channeled their "inner entrepreneur" and created a pitch with visual aids, similar to what you might see on the popular tv show, Shark Tank. Students then presented their ideas to their classmates and a few staff. We had food trucks, to computer repair stores, to auto detailing or landscaping, even a balloon arch/party decor company. We love providing our students with hands-on projects that they could take into the real world and turn into an actual business. Take a look at the images, one these students may just be the next small business owner in Milton!

We had a record number (17!) of students earn the Microsoft Excel certification earlier this week!

Just as a reminder this class is titled "Workplace Applications" and focuses on learning a Windows operating system computer along with Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. These students have demonstrated efficiency and a strong knowledge of Excel. They are workplace and college ready wherever life takes them after Milton HS.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, four MHS Senior students participated in the State Level Competition of the 2025-26 Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl (FICB) in Madison, Wisconsin. The students participating as pictured from left to right (attached) include: Lillian R, Donnika D, Katiya H, and Keira F.

The students did well and fought hard against tough competition. They had a great time and stated that they would encourage other students to participate in the competition next year.

The Workplace Applications class recently took the Microsoft Office Specialist - Word certification test in class and we are proud to announce that 12 students passed the test on their first attempt and many others were really close! We are so proud of their hard work and hope to get a few more to pass on their second attempt soon. In the meantime, we are on to learning Microsoft Excel, starting out with learning how to navigate the program and some of the formatting features before getting into the analysis portion of the program. Milton FBLA is ready for day 1 of the state leadership conference! Lily and Ava are presenting in Public Service Announcement, Raeden, Ben, and August are presenting in Website Coding and Development, and Max, Emily, and Gracelyn will be competing in a content area test today.
