In Loving Memory of Mrs. Sheila Bonacci

We are saddened to share that former Science teacher Sheila Bonacci passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Mrs. Bonacci taught at Fontbonne for 26 years (1986–2012), serving as Physical Science and Chemistry teacher and Science Department Chair. She inspired generations of Fontbonne women to think critically, embrace curiosity, and lead in science, and was especially beloved for her work advising the National Honor Society.

Visiting Hours: Friday, August 7, 4–8 pm, Dolan Funeral Home, East Milton
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, August 8, 10 am, Saint Elizabeth Church, Milton

🏉 Rosie the Wonder Lab 🏉

Put on by charity founder and rising Fontbonne 8th grader, Parker Vitagliano-Hill, the tournament took place on July 19 at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, with teams from across New England competing to raise funds for seizure-alert dog training and epilepsy awareness.

Parker’s work embodies everything we hope to instill in our students: service, courage, and compassion. So proud to call her a Duck. 💙

As our exchange trip to France comes to a close, our students are returning home with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for French culture.

This week, the girls explored the beautiful village of Talloires on the shores of Lake Annecy, visited the Château d’Annecy, enjoyed crêpes, strolled through local markets, and took in the stunning lakeside views. On Thursday, they traveled to Lyon, where they toured the Basilica of Fourvière, the ancient Roman theaters, Vieux Lyon, and Place des Terreaux, experiencing the rich history, culture, and, of course, some delicious ice cream along the way!

Before heading back to Boston, the students will spend one final day with their host families, celebrating the friendships and connections that make this exchange so special.

After 35 years of dedicated service, Mrs. Maria Devine is retiring from Fontbonne.

For nearly four decades, Mrs. Devine has inspired, encouraged, and mentored generations of young women through her passion for physical education, her unwavering commitment to her students, and her deep love for the Fontbonne community. Her impact extends far beyond the gym.

As we celebrate her remarkable career, we invite alumnae, families, friends, and members of the Fontbonne community to help us honor Mrs. Devine by sharing your favorite memories, stories, and messages of gratitude. Whether she was your teacher, coach, mentor, or colleague, we would love to hear how she made a difference in your life.
