From Fontbonne’s Big Sister–Little Sister program to a reunion at Brown University! Teju Kalluri ‘27 and Meghan Gibbons ‘27 enjoyed touring campus and catching up with Julia Bergancia ‘25 and Emily Mbi Ojong ‘26. Seeing our students continue to support and encourage one another is what the Fontbonne sisterhood is all about.

After reading about the eruption of Mt. Tambora in Nicholas Day’s A World Without Summer, our 7th and 8th Grade students attended the Boston College High School Author Event, where they welcomed the author for a day of conversation and celebration. Day discussed how he approaches writing novels and told students that he loves doing research, but related that even after the research is complete, he often struggles to begin writing. He described the “aha” or “snap” moment when ideas come together and shared his view that relying on AI to write means missing that discovery for yourself.

Students also enjoyed an icy dessert in honor of “Mer de Glace” from the novel, played a trivia game led by eighth graders Caylee Perkins, Emma Caliste, Anna Hernandez, and Penelope Yung, and spent time playing on the BC High athletic fields.
