The visual arts are an important way for young children to represent and express their ideas. Visual art is often a window and see how a child sees the world. By engaging children in our experiences without a specific outcome, and enhances their confidence, creativity and appreciation for art. Inspired by the artistic process of Maryam’s Bryukhanova, the children created their own abstract art by letting their brushes “dance” across the page. This process driven approach encourages children to be aware of how their body moves, the way they feel, and how to express themselves.

Three of her four children - and later, her grandson - attended our on-site center for PSECU employees. She fondly remembers the meaningful connections each teacher built with her family and how the curriculum prepared them for kindergarten and beyond.
