Happy Labor Day! A sincere "thank you" to everyone in our community!

Colleagues and friends, just a reminder to VOTE April 1st.

An hour before this post, the President made an executive order to begin dismantling the Department of Education and "return education to the states."

Well... then we REALLY need to choose our State Superintendent, State Supreme Court Justice, and Milton School District Board Members carefully!

The MEA officially endorses: Jill Underly, Susan Crawford, and John Dummer & Rick Mullen.

PLEASE VOTE! This one could matter more than we know.

We are officially one week away. There has been considerable effort by many to help support the Milton Schools Referendum, and what we need now is ONE FINAL PUSH!

What can YOU do?

1. "Like" and follow the "Vote Yes for Kids" facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/voteyesforkidsmilton

2. Make a social media post on your personal accounts supporting the referendum. (This could be in your own words, a re-share of district or "Vote Yes" group materials, a photo of you with a "Vote Yes" sign, etc.). You may also consider making your profile picture a temporary "Vote Yes" logo (see attached).

3. Speak to friends and neighbors - see if they have any questions, direct them to the district website: https://sites.google.com/milton.k12.wi.us/sdmreferendum2024?usp=sharing for more information, or simply remind them to please vote.

We have seen elections in our district win or lose by VERY small margins. A final push from educators could be just what we need.

2. If you would like a yard sign, we will have them for pick-up at the parking lot of the Milton Community House on Wednesday, Oct. 9th from 5-6pm and Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9-10am.

Vote Yes For Kids Vote Yes for Kids, Inc. is a community group supporting the Milton School District referendum to protect funding for key programs like sports, music, and extracurriculars. Help us secure a strong future for our students!

Hi folks, just an FYI: we are working on adjusting the name of this group to reflect our members who aren't necessarily in the union (retirees, community members, etc.) but who are still fervent supporters of Milton Education. Standby!

SDM staff: I know many folks like to "turn off" school email over summer. I 1000% support this!

However, an email sent today (Wed. 7/10) from HR is important to check. A deadline for action regarding HSA has changed. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE - ONLY SOME FOLKS WILL HAVE RECEIVED THIS EMAIL.

NO NEED FOR ALARM, just wanted to try and spread the word for the 30 or so folks who need to know about the new deadline and may not be checking email. I encourage you to check-in with your people (especially if you know they not are summer email checkers).
