I'm making beautiful suns today on a beautiful day! What more could I ask for?!

I'm working on a custom order for a client, making suns today! I've gotten all the pieces done, now I just need to glue them all together. This paper is so vibrant and beautiful. It will be sure to make any project pop!

My daughter and I are having the best day off together! We are both working on our projects. She is working on her Valentine's Day box for school. And I just finished the outline of a name project I am working on for a friend. Next step will be to fill it in with various quilling shapes. I LOVE the world of crafts and the fact that I can share it with my daughter makes it extra special!

Anyone else feel the same way?

Finished one of my projects last night and got it shipped out today while on my lunch! It feels good to complete a project and see all your hard work in the details of the piece. 😀

Sometimes you hit a hurdle that you have to work past! I'm working on a project and quilling letters for it. I've never done anything like this before, so I've had to do a lot of research. Well I hit a hurdle. I didn't take into consideration the thickness of the letter. So, when I glued the outline of the letter and put the inside part in, the heights were uneven, with the inside being higher than the outline.

So, to solve the problem, I ordered wider quilling paper for the outline and will start over once it comes in. This is what gets challenging for me when trying to do something new. Sometimes, you just have to start trying and see where it leads!

I will eventually get there, I know it! 😀

What hurdles in crafting have you encountered?

I know that I haven't posted in a long time, however, that is going to change. I am working on a couple projects for some people and I want to share with you all on one of the projects (more info to come on the other one). It is a blue/purple violet flower pot that is made through the art of paper quilling.

Paper quilling is the process of manually rolling thin strips of paper into circles and then you pinch them into different shapes. Glue the pieces together to create a unique piece of art.

The pictures below represent a couple of the stages that I went through to get to the end result of the leaves and the petals. Each green leaf includes 4 quilled circles that are glued and wrapped together. Then repeated...so to get to the end, I had to quill 24 circles, then complete several processes to get to the end. You can see similar shapes for the petals, only I had to use different techniques.

Now all I have left is to construct everything together! This is my favorite part because you can see your artwork come to life! 😀💐🌹🌷
