YEEHAW! Rodeo Day at Milroy Elementary!

A big THANK YOU to our RCHS FFA members for bringing Rodeo Day to our Milroy Cardinals! Our students had a rootin’-tootin’ good time lassoing bulls, competing in “horse races,” and saddling up to practice their lasso skills!

We are so grateful to these FFA students for sharing their time, energy, and talents to create such a fun and memorable experience for our students. Thank you for helping our Cardinals try something new, learn a little, and make some wonderful memories along the way!

Celebrating Our Cardinals!

We love taking time each month to celebrate the wonderful things happening at Milroy Elementary! During our Town Hall, we recognized a student and staff member with our Soaring Above & Beyond awards. We also celebrated our other monthly student award recipients, recognizing Cardinals who are demonstrating growth, effort, kindness, leadership, and Cardinal PRIDE in so many different ways.

A special congratulations to Emmalyn Tillison, our Soaring Above & Beyond Student of the Month! Emmalyn is known for her kind heart, compassion, willingness to help others, and positive attitude. She consistently gives her best and is a wonderful example of Cardinal PRIDE!

We also celebrated Miss Dani Davis as our Soaring Above & Beyond Staff Member of the Month! Miss Davis brings dedication, kindness, and a willingness to help others to our school each day. Her welcoming smile, positive attitude, and genuine care for students and staff make Milroy a better place to be.

Congratulations to ALL of our monthly award recipients! We are proud of the many ways our Cardinals continue to learn, grow, encourage one another, and make our school community shine.

Exploring Future Possibilities During College Go Week!

Our Cardinals had a wonderful opportunity to learn about different careers during College Go Week! We were excited to welcome representatives from Jackman’s Animal Clinic and Rush Memorial Hospital, who shared about the important work they do and what it takes to pursue a career in their fields.

Our students listened, asked questions, and got a glimpse into the many different ways people can use their interests, talents, and skills to make a difference in the lives of others.

Experiences like these help our students begin to see that the possibilities for their future are wide open. Whether they dream of working with animals, helping people, creating, building, discovering, or something they haven't even imagined yet, we're excited to help them start thinking about where their interests might take them!

A big thank-you to Jackman’s Animal Clinic and Rush Memorial Hospital for spending time with our Cardinals and helping us make College Go Week meaningful and memorable!

We may not know exactly where our Cardinals will go, but we can't wait to see where they soar!

STEM City Family Night at Milroy Elementary!

What an incredible evening of building, designing, learning, and exploring at our Indianapolis Children’s Museum STEM City Family Night!

We loved seeing our students and their families working side-by-side, getting curious, asking questions, trying new things, and learning together through a variety of hands-on STEM experiences throughout our gym.

From designing and building to experimenting and problem-solving, our Cardinals had the opportunity to experience STEM in a fun and engaging way, and there was plenty of creativity happening along the way!

We were thrilled to have 90 students join us for this special evening! A huge thank-you to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum for bringing STEM City to Milroy and creating such an exciting learning experience for our students and families.

What a wonderful reminder that learning doesn't have to stop when the school day ends!

Today we are celebrating two people who help keep Milroy Elementary running smoothly every single day -Mr. John Cregar and Mr. Brandon McGrath!

Our custodians do so much more than keep our school clean. They help keep our building safe, welcoming, organized, and ready for learning each day. They are problem-solvers, helpers, behind-the-scenes heroes, and familiar faces who are always willing to lend a hand when something needs to be fixed, cleaned, moved, or taken care of.

From the first person who notices something needs attention to the many things they do throughout the day that most of us never see, their work makes a difference in our school community.

Thank you, Mr. John and Mr. Brandon, for taking such great care of our school and our Cardinals! We appreciate you more than you know!

Next week, we’re celebrating College Go! Week at Milroy Elementary! But we know that there are many different paths to a successful future. Whether our Cardinals dream of attending college, learning a skilled trade, serving in the military, entering the workforce, or following another path, we want them to dream big and find a way to soar!

We’ll spend the week dreaming, building, serving, growing, and soaring as we celebrate the many possibilities that await our students!

🔬✨ STEM Family Night is coming to Milroy Elementary! ✨🔬

The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is bringing STEM Family Night to MES on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–7:00 PM!

Families will have the opportunity to explore a variety of hands-on STEM activities and experiences together. There will be something fun to discover, create, and learn for everyone!

📍 LOCATION: Milroy Elementary School
🏫 Activities will be set up in the gym.
🚪 Please enter through Door 12.
🗓️ Wednesday, September 30
⏰ 5:30–7:00 PM

And just to be clear… you do NOT have to drive to Indianapolis! 😉 The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is bringing the fun right here to Milroy!

🍕 Pizza Party for the Win! 🍕

Mrs. Allgeier’s 4th grade class celebrated in style today with their well-earned pizza party! They sold the most boxes of chocolate during our Chocolate Sales fundraiser, earning the final prize of the campaign.

These 4th graders were not only excited about their pizza, they were incredibly thankful and made sure to show their appreciation!

A HUGE thank-you to all of our Milroy families and supporters who helped make our Chocolate Sales fundraiser such a success. We are so proud of the teamwork, effort, and Cardinal Pride our students showed throughout the entire fundraiser!

Our 4th graders had a wonderful time at Caldwell Heritage Days!

They stepped back in time to learn about blacksmithing, meet sheep and alpacas, discover the toys children played with over a century ago, and explore many other fascinating parts of history.
