Penquis Valley Key Club

Today after our half day dismissal, these Key Clubbers stayed after to w**d and plant beautiful perennials we purchased with funds our club raised! We still have a little more w**ding and some mulching to do, but I couldn’t be more proud of them! Good job girls!!!

What a beginning of the year already! We want to start out by thanking the community for participating in our fifth annual Hue on You Color Run! It was such a fun event, and the money raised will let us add a variety of native perennials to the front garden in front of the school.

Today we Walked for Water!!!! Our walk raised 964.00 for the Thirst Project, which helps build wells in communities without them! According to UNICEF 2.2 billion people globally lack safely managed drinking water, with over 700 million lacking even basic drinking water services. Thank you to our donors and the people who walked with us; it was a wonderful success!!!

One of the worldwide charities we have decided to raise money for this year is the Thirst Project. A little backstory about the Thirst Project: in 2019 and 2020, Penquis Valley Key Club raised twelve thousand dollars for the Thirst Project, which was enough to fund a well for a community in Eswatini. As a Thirst Project legacy school, we have set a goal over the last two years to raise and donate at least $1,000 for the Thirst Project. On Sunday, we will be walking for water to do just that. If you would like to join us or sponsor one of our Key Club members in this venture, please contact us here or email our president, Adalai, at [email protected]!
