Thank you 💙 MEA
I normally don't post stuff like this but this is important and directly affects me and so many others! I am Tier 5.. and it sucks! When I chose my career and headed to college there was only TIER 1! By the time I graduated there were 5.... each worse and more unfair then the last.. see attached info-graphic.
SOOOOO....... Please take a minute to sign up, it is just a few clicks the hard part is filled out for you!

🚨Help fix the NJ Pension Crisis!🚨
Some Facts about Tier 5:
- Tiering of pensions began in 2007 and by 2011, Tier 5 was introduced.
- Tier 5 employees pay $15 dollars to every $1 dollar the state contributes.
- Retirement age is 65 for Tier 5 members and we get a 3% penalty per year if we choose to retire early... so if we retire at 55 like generations before us... we lose 30% of our pension THAT WE PAID basically 94% of to begin with!
These are just SOME of the problems.
This is one of the main reasons NJ teachers and staff are leaving mid-career causing a staffing crisis and hurting our schools!
The system is broken, and it's time to demand change. We deserve fair pensions and secure retirements! 💪💼
Thanks in advance for reading and signing up ♡

Our pension systems are inequitable, fragmented and no longer provide incentive for newer educators to stay in the profession or for potential educators to join the profession in the first
