Save the Date for our Back to School Night Events!

Fresh, local, and nutritious produce is coming to Greenwood Elementary! 🥦🍅

In partnership with Peoples Provisions, LEAF, and Spiral Path Farm, we’re hosting a Free Farmers Market Event on September 1st! Each participating family will receive a free tote bag packed with fresh produce, healthy recipes, and helpful community food resource guides.

To ensure we have enough for everyone, pre-registration is required!

Event Details:
Date: September 1st @ Back-to-School Night (6:30-8PM)
Location: Greenwood Elementary School Garden
Sign-Up Deadline: Friday, August 28th

Happy Summer GWDES!

We have some special things planned for our upcoming Summer recesses.

August 4- The 2nd Grade Team will be joining us for the fun.

August 11- Mrs. Comp will be there for Popsicles with Principal. Come play enjoy a sweet treat.

As always the playground, natural play space, and garden will be open. Hope to see you there!

Happy Day GWDES Wildcats!
Hope you're busy enjoying every glorious moment of summer fun! We've been busy caring for the garden and getting the school ready for next year. I know you've been waiting to know who your teacher will be for next year. Start checking the mail! Teacher placements were mailed today and will go live on Power School next Tuesday. Kindergarten packets have also been mailed. If you want to let me know what you've been up to this summer, feel free to send a post card or letter to 405 E Sunbury St. Millerstown, PA 17062.

Big News for Greenwood Elementary STEM!!!

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Emily Book, our Elementary STEM teacher, was selected by The Penn State College of Education’s Center for Science and the Schools (CSATS) for the STEM Pioneers Teacher Corps. This program is supported by a $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation. She is one of 27 educators chosen through a competitive, multi-step process from applicants across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Selected teachers demonstrate excellence in STEM teaching and leadership potential in elementary education.
Over four years, Mrs. Book will participate in specialized professional development in STEM curriculum and educational leadership. She will be awarded travel support to attend regional workshops and conferences and, best of all, classroom tools, materials, and resources that directly benefit our Wildcats!

Congratulations Mrs. Book! We're so proud of you!
