MALE Connection is an acronym for Mentoring African-Americans for Leadership, Education, & Connection. As GC's AAMI program, MALE Connection focuses on several tenets to accomplish its mission:
***Ongoing Mentorship
***Community & Leadership Development
***Financial Literacy & Advisement
***Connecting with Enrollment Management

Through this organization, undergraduate students are mentored (thro

ugh the SOAR program) and provide mentorship for Early College & High Achievers students. While Black male students account for only roughly 2% of GC's undergraduate population, these individuals are among the best and brightest on campus, as seen by their retention rates among the highest among state institutions for their demographic.

🚨🚨Bittersweet announcement from our program director:

In case you haven't heard, I am leaving GC for another position, after 11 years building and leading this AAMI program. Wow. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have a front-row seat while witnessing the growth and power of the young men who've passed through this program since 2010. Please know that I will ALWAYS be a part of your network, and I look forward to continuing to keep in touch with each of you as you progress on your journeys throughout life.

This is my last post on this account, but it's been a pleasure serving in this capacity. Thank you for your support and participation throughout the years. You've truly changed my life.
