A quick update for our faculty community 💙💚
We’ve loved connecting with you here - sharing teaching ideas, celebrating faculty work, and highlighting learning across campus. As we move forward, we’ll be shifting our departmental social media updates primarily to LinkedIn.
LinkedIn allows us to better support faculty through professional learning opportunities, teaching resources, and campus highlights.

Instructors, here’s this week’s Mindful Monday to share with your students and help strengthen our campus culture of wellbeing.
Eleanor Roosevelt reminds us: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” When we understand what we want - and why - challenges become smaller and purpose becomes clearer.
Thank you for helping us promote mindfulness and wellbeing across Georgia College & State University. 💙 💚

We're excited to share the launch of Sounding the Nation at 250, a new national project led by Dr. Dana C. Gorzelany-Mostak, Professor of Music at Georgia College & State University!
Sponsored by the Society for American Music, this initiative commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by celebrating the rich and diverse musical traditions of the United States. Events will take place in community and senior centers, libraries, churches, parks, and public venues, meeting audiences where they are and making music scholarship accessible and meaningful.
The project's website, interactive map, and upcoming digital music archive were supported by a Digital Humanities Collaborative - Georgia College grant, reflecting Georgia College & State University's commitment to innovative, publicly engaged scholarship.
We're proud to support this work and look forward to what's ahead! Learn more at sam250.org.

Barb Szyjko, Georgia College & State University's retired Instructional Technology staff specialist, came up with the 10-minute rule during her 14 years here at Georgia College, and we think it's a great guideline.
If you've been working on a GeorgiaVIEW issue for 10 minutes without resolution, please give CTL a call or send an email. We're glad to help and can save you time and anguish.

We're excited to share that Jim Berger, our director, represented Georgia College & State University at the 50th Annual POD Network Conference in San Diego!
Jim spent the week connecting with colleagues from across the country, learning about new approaches to faculty development, and exploring ways to strengthen mentorship and teaching support at GCSU.
The sticker on his name badge highlights his role as chair of the POD's Special Interest Group (SIG) for Supporting Mentorship Practices & Programs - perfect for someone who leads with such care and intention.
