Baldwin College & Career Academy Hosts First Reverse Career Fair
Last month, Baldwin College & Career Academy proudly hosted our first-ever Reverse Career Fair, an exciting event where students showcased their CTAE pathway skills, certifications, and career readiness directly to industry partners. Instead of employers presenting to students, our students presented their talents, equipment, and technical skills to the community.
We appreciate the many community partners who joined us to connect with and support our students as they explore future career opportunities. Organizations represented included Vocational Rehabilitation, Central Georgia Technical College, Georgia Power, Fouts Brothers, Chambers of Commerce, and GEO Group, along with many other partners who contributed to making the event meaningful for our students.
Mrs. Roby from Vocational Rehabilitation, a proud Baldwin High School graduate, shared how impressed she was with our students’ talents and the equipment available to help them succeed. She also reflected on how much the school has grown and evolved since her time as a student.
Mr. Daniels from the GEO Group Human Resources Department stated that he would hire our students in a minute, noting how professional they were and how knowledgeable they were about their CTAE pathways and career goals.
Events like this reflect our commitment to PBIS and Leader in Me principles, encouraging students to be proactive, take ownership of their learning, and showcase their leadership and career readiness skills.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and continues to support our local workforce pipeline.
If you missed it this year, we hope you will join us next year to witness the incredible talent right here in our community.

WBL & Youth Apprenticeship Collaboration Spotlight
Baldwin College & Career Academy is proud to highlight a partnership with Fouts Brothers/Smyrna Truck in Milledgeville, where Youth Apprenticeship student Ahmad Wright is gaining valuable hands-on experience in welding.
Through the collaboration of Dr. Damita Jones, Work-Based Learning Coordinator, and Julie Lawson from the Resource Department, Ahmad was placed with the company. Because Fouts Brothers works with a wide range of specialized tools and equipment, careful attention was given to ensuring appropriate safety considerations and training for the placement.
Ahmad has earned several welding certifications through Central Georgia Technical College while participating in Dual Enrollment, which has prepared him well for this opportunity. He shared that he is enjoying the experience and learning from professionals in the field.
This partnership not only supports Ahmad’s career development but also helps strengthen the local workforce pipeline by connecting Baldwin County students with industry partners who are investing in the next generation of skilled professionals.

Elevating Baldwin County — One Flight at a Time Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber Baldwin College & Career Academy Baldwin County School District
Dr. Damita Jones, Work-Based Learning Coordinator, is proud to introduce a strategic collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce: highlighting local businesses through professional drone photography and videography produced by our Aviation Pathway students at Baldwin College & Career Academy.
Under the leadership of Mr. Roberto, our Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) instructor, students are gaining real-world experience while operating under FAA regulations. We are proud to share that Dale Rice and Johntavious Mosley are fully certified FAA Part 107 Remote Pilots, meaning they have earned their federal drone license and are legally authorized to conduct commercial drone operations.
Last month, students began capturing aerial footage of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce located downtown. While the videos and photos were not tied to a specific marketing campaign, the purpose was intentional: to develop adaptable, high-quality digital content that can be customized to meet client needs.
Drone photography and videography are widely used across industries, including:
• Advertising and branding
• Real estate marketing
• Construction site documentation
• Community development initiatives
Our aviation students receive hands-on flight experience operating unmanned aircraft systems under 400 feet, following all FAA safety guidelines. This initiative provides:
Professional exposure for Chamber stakeholders
High-impact visual content for businesses
Workforce-ready students with industry credentials
A direct talent pipeline for local employers
When stakeholders see the caliber of work our students can produce, it becomes clear: Baldwin County is cultivating skilled, certified professionals ready to contribute immediately.
This collaboration reflects strategic visibility, mutual benefit, and forward-thinking workforce development. We look forward to strengthening partnerships that elevate both our students and our business community. Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber
