🎭 Experience the magic of GCSU Theatre during Family Weekend! 🎭

The Office of Parent & Family Engagement is beyond excited to partner with Georgia College Theatre & Dance for this year’s Family Weekend!

During Family Weekend, the Theatre Department will present Antigone, a new adaptation of Sophocles’ timeless tragedy. More than 2,000 years old, this powerful story unfolds as ritual: the Fates weave, power is claimed, and resistance answers. You are not asked to lose yourself in the story, but to watch. The thread is drawn tight. Will you witness it cut?

• Friday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m.
• Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m.

At the first World Cultures Fest at Georgia College & State University, students brought language and culture to life through performance—thanks in part to the guidance of the Theatre Department’s Dr. Amy Pinney.

Dr. Pinney and her directing students worked alongside French-language students in Dr. Fraunhofer’s French Drama class to develop physical acting techniques, helping prepare a scene performance that showcased the power of theatre collaboration across disciplines. This partnership highlights how theatre training strengthens creativity, confidence, and communication—no matter the major
