Before the first day of the new semester let’s take a moment to look back on the hard work of last semester at the Community Health Poster Showcase event on December 5th.

Public Health Students perform 30 hours of service learning at community organizations in the Baldwin County area as part of field-based experiential learning.

This gives students direct experience with the issues they are studying in the public health curriculum and opportunity to analyze and solve problems in the community.

We are always so proud of and impressed with our students and faculty for their hard work and dedication, and we’re looking forward to seeing what amazing things come out of this new semester!

Recently students participating in a nutrition class taught by Dr. Helen DuPree participated in an assignment called “Student Choice”. Students were instructed to choose a medium to represent their learning about a course concept/concepts of their choice, and to present in class. Pictured are a (1) digestion sweater, (2) a body image collage, and (3) a gut health tri-fold poster. Other submissions included original poems and songs, videos, and presentations. Great work from our amazing students!
