Flyer Flight Crew

10/15/2026

Over 150 elementary students participated in this year's Junior Flyers Cheer Clinic! Our youngest Flyers had a blast learning chants, cheers, jumps, and motions from the Lake Flyer Cheerleaders!

The excitement didn't stop there! These future cheerleaders had the opportunity to take the field and perform alongside the Lake Flyer Cheerleaders at a Lake High School varsity football game!

We love seeing the next generation of Flyers building confidence, making memories, and showing their Lake pride!

Our third grade Flyers took a step back in time during a fun and educational field trip to Providence Metropark!

Students had the opportunity to ride the canal boat, tour the historic Isaac Ludwig Mill, and discover how transportation has changed over the years. From exploring history firsthand to seeing how people lived and traveled in the past, it was a day full of learning, adventure, and memories!

It's the people who make Lake such a special place! 💙

This week's staff spotlight reminds us that Lake is so much more than a school district. It's a community where we lift each other up, celebrate successes, build lasting connections, and make memories that stay with us forever.

We love hearing what makes Lake feel like home to our staff, and this week's story captures that feeling perfectly!

Once a Flyer, always a Flyer!

During the month of September, Lake Elementary students learned all about our core essential value of the month- Friendship.

Friendship is using your words and actions to show others you care. Congratulations to these students that were recognized by their teachers for consistently showing this value in the month of September!

Thanks to Mr. Mahas, our Lake theater students had the opportunity to experience something truly unique!

The Bodyguard is kicking off its national tour right here in Toledo, and the cast has spent the past five weeks rehearsing at the Stranahan Theater. Our students were invited to attend a rehearsal and get a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into bringing a national Broadway tour to life.

Students also had the incredible opportunity to meet the show's executive producer and director, who shared insight into the planning, preparation, and hard work involved in producing a show of this magnitude.

What an unforgettable experience for our theater students! A huge thank you to Mr. Mahas for making this opportunity possible!

Students in Mr. Mahas’ Science of Survival class have been learning about fish species native to our area and recently had the opportunity to put their knowledge and fishing skills to the test! While only a few students were successful in reeling in a catch, everyone enjoyed the hands-on experience. And if nothing else, they certainly made sure the fish were well-fed with plenty of worms! 🎣🐟

Sometimes the best lessons happen outside the classroom!
