Our children had so much fun using colorful magnets in our STEM space to sort, match, and create. As they grouped magnets by color, they were building important early math and science skills, practicing observation, problem-solving, and critical thinking—all through hands-on play.

What a colorful way to wrap up the year with Miss Sam from Samantha Fox ! 🌈✨

This week, our toddlers had so much fun tie-dyeing their own T-shirts, experimenting with colors and creating unique wearable masterpieces. We also enjoyed sensory bin play, digging, scooping, pouring, and exploring different textures through hands-on discovery.

Thank you, Miss Sam, for a year filled with creativity, sensory fun, and meaningful learning experiences. We loved every minute and can't wait to see you again next year! 💕🦊

🎸 Music, science, and creativity all came together during music class with Ms. Anne!

Using cardboard and rubber bands, Miss Anne helped the children create their very own guitars while learning how string instruments work. The children explored how different rubber bands produced different sounds and pitches as they plucked the strings and experimented with rhythm and beat.

Hands-on experiences like this encourage curiosity, listening skills, fine motor development, and an early understanding of cause and effect—all while making music and having fun!

At Better World Preschool, gross motor play is so much more than just running and jumping — it is an essential part of early childhood development! 💙

Through climbing, balancing, dancing, riding, and outdoor exploration, children strengthen the large muscles in their bodies while building coordination, balance, body awareness, and confidence. Gross motor play also supports social-emotional growth as children learn to take turns, cooperate with friends, and challenge themselves in new ways. ✨

Whether we are outside on the playground or engaging in active classroom play, our children are constantly learning through movement. Active play helps children develop focus, problem-solving skills, independence, and healthy habits that support lifelong learning. 🌈

Watching our infants grow, move, and begin building friendships has been such a joy! 💕

This week, our infant class has been busy exploring side-by-side play, learning how to interact with friends, and strengthening important social-emotional skills through shared experiences and play opportunities. From smiling at one another to passing toys and exploring together, these early interactions are the foundation for connection, communication, and friendship.

At the same time, the children are continuing to build their gross motor skills every day through crawling, pulling up, cruising, climbing, balancing, and practicing those exciting first steps! Through active play both indoors and outdoors, our infants are strengthening coordination, balance, muscle development, and confidence as they explore the world around them.

There is something so special about bringing learning outdoors! Our preschoolers loved spending time painting on easels outside, surrounded by fresh air, sunshine, and nature. ☀️🍃

Painting at an easel is so much more than creating beautiful artwork — it supports so many important developmental skills and milestones in early childhood.

Working at an easel helps children:
🖌️ Strengthen fine motor skills and hand muscles needed for writing
🖌️ Develop hand-eye coordination and bilateral coordination
🖌️ Build shoulder and arm strength through vertical painting

Watching our butterflies take their first flight was pure magic 🦋✨

After weeks of caring for our caterpillars, observing their transformation into chrysalises, and patiently waiting, the moment finally arrived… our butterflies emerged and were ready to be released into the world 💛

This experience was so much more than just exciting—it was full of learning. Our preschoolers explored life cycles, practiced patience, and built a deep sense of responsibility as they cared for living things. Releasing them gave the children a beautiful, tangible understanding of growth, change, and letting go.

Moments like these are what make early childhood so special—hands-on, meaningful, and filled with wonder 🌿
