Our young scholars had an incredible experience welcoming our local Millburn firefighters for Fire Prevention Month!

From exploring the fire engine and utility vehicles up close to learning vital safety skills like "stop, drop, and roll" directly from our community heroes, moments like these spark curiosity, trust, and community connection. Watching our students step into the shoes of brave firefighters reminds us how meaningful real-world learning truly is.

Every play-based activity in our classrooms is thoughtfully designed with developmental purpose.

This activity allows children to try out household cleaning routines using a broom, dustpan, duster, and mop. They develop fine motor skills by grasping and holding the tools, and gross motor skills by pushing, pulling, and moving the couch, all while learning a sense of responsibility and competence.

By blending practical life skills with motor development, we empower our students to build confidence and independence from the ground up.

Sensory exploration plays a foundational role in early cognitive development and neural mapping.

In our early learning environment, Ms. Chenchen is leading our students through a targeted curriculum focused on learning their 5 senses one at a time.
By isolating each sense through interactive props—like giant ear cutouts for auditory focus and binoculars for visual tracking—our educators build observational skills, expanding visual-spatial awareness and body consciousness.

Celebrating rich traditions, vibrant cultures, and the diverse heritage that makes our school community so special!

Our young scholars loved learning about different countries—from Ecuador and Peru to Puerto Rico and Colombia—through traditional attire, flags, colorful handprint artwork, and hands-on cultural exploration during Hispanic Heritage Month. Embracing global awareness helps our children build empathy, curiosity, and pride in their own unique backgrounds.

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
