It’s CTE MONTH!

At Stanhope Elmore High School we kicked off the celebtion with our annual Reality Check Activity. Students enrolled in Career Tech classes and Career Prep classes participated in the frenzy of trying to make their monthly income dollars stretch to take care of household needs and wants. Students were given a scenario outlining a career, salary and family living situation. They were challenged to budget their income and not run out of money. They also had some unexpected expenses to contend with! Whew! Life was lifing for many of them.

Thank you to our Elmore County Technical Center Career Coach, Katie Jackson, for all of her hard work in lesson preparation and providing materials for the activity! Thank you JROTC for assisting in the setup! You always come through!

Personal Finance classes have practiced setting SMART goals, decision making, and budgeting. We all must manage budgets based on income from employment.
Many jobs pay based on levels of education.
8 beans = No High School
10 beans =High School
12 beans = Associates Degree
16 beans = College Degree
20 beans = Graduate Degree

The FCS Event Planning class had a wonderful time planning and hosting an exciting Thanksgiving lunch. Our students did an amazing job! Thank you to our incredible staff and faculty who helped make the event a success and joined us as guests

Kudos to the students of Stanhope Elmore High School Career Tech Department, namely JROTC, for providing service and participating in the program for the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Awards banquet held at 17 Springs yesterday. From the posting of colors by our JROTC to assisting the Elmore County CNP, our students operated in excellence! They represented us well!

Congratulations to Dylan Chavez who placed 3rd in the Personal Financial Literacy Event! Dylan will be attending DECA ICDC (international career development conference) at the end of April in Orlando, FL! He is currently reaching out for sponsorship donations to help offset costs with various expenses!
