Author visits are always illuminating, and recently, MVMS had a very interactive virtual author visit from Gennifer Choldenko (Al Capone Does my Shirts and Chasing Secrets). 📚📖 She had students from 7 classes pretend to be doctors curing a mysterious disease and other activities that they LOVED.

MVMS teachers & the teacher-librarian create global connections 🌎🌍🌏

Recently, 7th-grade students had the experience of Zooming with young women in Kabul to ask questions after reading "The Breadwinner," a book about a girl growing up in war-torn Afghanistan. They had a lively discussion and learned from their firsthand experiences.
