Mill Valley Pottery Studio The studio offers ceramics and pottery classes, workshops, events, and private parties for adults and children in a wonderful well-lit, garden setting.

Mill Valley Potter's Studio was founded by Jennie Dito, a local ceramic enthusiast. The studio was created to bring local artists together and provide a place for the community to "Explore your creative side with clay." We specialize in teaching the ceramic arts to adults and children. Techniques include pottery on the wheel, sculpting, pinching, coiling, hand-building, glazing and a variety firing methods.

🏺In addition to our one-time classes like pinch pots & Pinot or private 1:1 or group lessons for play and exploration, we always offer 6-week courses to dig into technique and develop your skills as well!

🙌 Come spend time with your hands in clay, connect with community members, and find some moments of zen in our bright, beautiful studio space.

🤝Students and members also enjoy open studio time along with a 6-week course or a membership, so there’s always of time to practice. Additional open studio hours beyond what comes with the course are also available for students who are enrolled in courses, just contact us for details.

Meet Rachel Lansman, MVPS Staff Member! Swipe to see just a small sampling of her work.

✨What’s your dream project that you’d love to make someday?
My dream project is to make all of the tiles for a bathroom or a kitchen backsplash. 

✨What do you love making most?
My favorite thing to make over and over again are vases for the flowers from my garden
 
✨What’s your favorite thing about the MVPS community?
My favorite thing about the MVPS community is how supportive and encouraging everyone is, and watching everyone learning from and inspiring each other. 

👏🏻Rachel teaches Intro To Functional Pottery & Private Lessons at MVPS.

Since Rachel began making pottery, she has spent nearly all of her free time at the wheel. She has been a student and member at MVPS and is excited to be back in the studio as an instructor.

Her work is inspired by surrealism and she loves to make art that is wacky and a little bit weird. You might recognize her pots with noses and ears from around the studio.

When Rachel is not playing with mud in the studio, she can be found playing with mud in her vegetable garden or while hiking and camping in the mountains.

Session 7 is officially open for enrollment now at Mill Valley Pottery Studio - this 6-week session runs from Sept 21 - Nov 1 and we have classes for everyone: wheel and hand building, adult and teen classes alike.

We also offer 1-time classes and private lessons if you’ve never tried pottery before and want to dip your toe first!

Meet Lauren Vrovas, MVPS Member! And swipe to see just a small sampling of her work.

“I first gave pottery a try my freshman year at Redwood High School, & stuck with it all four years. After a long break, I picked it back up again in 2021.

I find inspiration everywhere! I’m really drawn to the tension between both structure & organic shapes/patterns.

The community at MVPS is the best. Everyone is so warm & welcoming. No matter when you walk in, there’s always a friendly face. We’ve become a community even outside the pottery studio which has been so amazing.

I’ll be selling some pottery at a block party/yard sale in Valley Circle, Mill Valley on August 22, from 9-2pm!
