Nothing says summer like fresh-squeezed lemonade... or turning it into homemade popsicles!

We've just wrapped up Week 2 of Summer Camp at Marin Horizon for ages 3 to 5, and we've got four more weeks of adventures planned. Yay!!! It's really great to have our young friends here all summer.

For the past few weeks, our 2nd grade mathematicians have been building “marble rolls”! During this STEM project, they were tasked with creating a course from cardboard tubes, tape, and other materials to try to get a marble to roll as far as possible. In the process they sharpened their understanding of experimental and design processes, discovered how marbles of different masses and densities roll, and practiced collaboration and communication.

And today is the big day. Students are sharing and demonstrating their completed projects with an audience, including measuring and recording three rolls using your chosen marble!

Now it’s time for our 1st–5th grade classes to experience their own overnight adventure: Camp Wildcat!

Our 5th graders arrived on Tuesday, and our 1st–4th graders joined the fun on Wednesday. We're at a new venue this year in Santa Rosa, and students will have access to new experiences, such as a ropes wall, obstacle course, swimming pool with lifeguards, and a variety of trails and outdoor spaces.

Camp Wildcat is a special Marin Horizon tradition that our students remember for years to come!!

Our 7th and 8th graders are in Washington DC this week. What a way to bring our cross-curricular learning to life!

Stops will include a visit and tour with our Representative Jared Huffman's chief of staff, a lobbying workshop, and a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Planet Word Museum, and many of the iconic sites throughout our capitol.

After five years of dreaming, designing, and building, we’re thrilled to invite you to the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our new outdoor space and playground.

Join us and our students on Monday, May 18, at 9:00 AM to explore the space, enjoy coffee and snacks, and celebrate this exciting milestone together. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Perfect weather and a great day on the track!

Our sixth- through eighth-grade students showed up ready to compete—some excited, some nervous—and gave it their all. It’s always inspiring to see them go up against much larger schools across Southern Marin, and to see them cheer on their fellow teammates.

We’re proud to share that many of our athletes have qualified for the County Track Meet this coming Friday!

The Primary Spring Festival was a socially interactive, hands-on, and very fun celebration of spring. Our Creek, Marsh, and Bay kids got to visit all three backyards and try new activities including the chance to press and juice fresh mint, cucumber and grapes (which made a delicious, refreshing juice) an inventors station, a place to make kinetic sand, seed planting, watercolor nature painting, potpourri sachet making, and a self-directed treasure hunt!

This week, many of our Middle School students took part in the Day of Silence—a national day of action organized by to raise awareness about the bullying and harassment LGBTQ+ students can face. Students shared with posters a variety of reasons they felt it was important to participate.

It was a strangely quiet day on campus, but a powerful one. Students discovered how hard it is to be seen and heard in a community when your voice is silenced.
