We are saddened to announce that we have lost one of our dear friends/classmate who passed away on Monday November 6, 2023.

Chris has so many friends - from high school, college, concert buddies, ultimate friends, family, work colleagues - we expect there may be several celebrations of life.

We are only 10 DAYS away from our reunion. People are reaching out, so excited and looking forward to reconnecting. In the past, classmates also connected with people that they barely knew at Tam. It always ends up being a good time. For those who can make it…yay! For those of you who can’t, you truly will be missed.

Outreach has been the best and most challenging part of making this event happen. We do mailings, email blitzes and phone calls. • 5:00-7:00 Sunset Toast. Meet at Four Corners on Mt. Tam.
• 7:30 Floodwater, Mill Valley. No-host dinner and drinks.

Saturday, September 30, 2023:

• 9:30-11:00 Tennessee Valley Beach hike.
• 1:00 Michael Bourne at Book Passage, Corte Madera - Blithedale Canyon book talk with Michael Bourne, class of ‘83.
• 5:00-10:00 The Sweetwater Music Hall- Food Catered by Rock & Rye; Live Music with The 85's (The 85's are a totally rad energetic party band playing tons of classic songs from the 80's - Bonus they are from Tam High's Class of 85: Monroe Grisman, Django Bayless, Adam Berkowitz and April Grisman).

Sunday, October 1, 2023:
• 12:00-3:00 Dunphy Park, Sausalito. Picnic in the park. We’ve Reserved the gazebo and will provide an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks and set up a couple Weber type BBQs. Everything else is bring your own food picnic style. Nice view of the bay, grassy knoll & relaxed place to visit- a great way to round up the weekend.

Dear 1983 Tam High classmates (and friends of) -

It’s funny, as I begin to write this, I think of Miss Marianne from Romper Room (anyone else remember her). Anyway, she talked to all her friends “out there”. That’s how I feel now…not sure who we’re reaching, but I have flashes of all of you as I remember you.

With the reunion only two months away, I want to send out our latest updates. As always, you can check out our website .. www.tamhigh1983.com for more details.

Friday (September 29) - We are planning to meet on Mt Tam @ FOUR CORNERS for a sunset toast (directions on website) 5-7pm. Then, for those who are interested, we will make our way to Playa (used to be Sonapa Farms) in Mill Valley for drinks/dinner (no host) at 7:30 pm.

Saturday (September 30) - As you know, the reunion is at The Sweetwater 5-10pm. When you arrive, we are setting up a few displays … “places we remember”, music from 1983 (do you still have your vinyl 45s?), maps to pin where you live now, Mt Tam reimagined (by classmate Llewellyn Ludlow - look on website’s bulletin board for his link) and a table to sign cards to teachers that are still with us.

A fun addition to the festivities is that, for those who appreciate craft beer, our classmate, award-winning brewer Bill Wood, is donating a large keg of either IPA or hazy IPA for everyone’s enjoyment. Note: a link to his biography is on our bulletin board

Sunday (October 1) - We’ve reserved the gazebo at Dunphy Park for our gathering (12-3pm). We will provide an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks and set up a couple weber type BBQs. But, it’s more of a picnic type place. Also, to try and be eco-friendly, we will bring metal cutlery and paper plates and containers for recycling/compost. Everything else is “bring your own”.
Nice view of the bay, grassy knoll & relaxed place to visit - great way to round up the weekend.
