As you may have noticed, an 'AI Divide' is rapidly emerging.

It's a growing gap between those who use AI adeptly—achieving extraordinary levels of productivity, creativity, and strategic thinking—and those who feel left behind, unsure of how to keep up.

This is something I’ve come to perceive firsthand after helping train and coach over 400 individuals to climb the AI learning curve over the past couple of years.

During this journey, I’ve witnessed a spectrum of emotions:

- A musician, amazed by AI's ability to generate a new song in the style of Bob Dylan about her cat.

- An elderly screenplay writer, scared to death about AI's potential to eliminate his means of employment.

- A small business owner, jazzed about AI serving as her thought partner.

But what’s most striking is the divergence in capabilities I’ve seen. Between those who are AI-adept and those who aren’t, the differential can be staggering—seemingly a factor of 2X or more.

This divide isn’t just about technical know-how; it’s about mindset and habits.

And here’s the thing: It’s hard to have a clear sense of where you stand on this spectrum.

During long drives, I’ve long hoped that my kids would want to converse rather than just have screentime or listen to podcasts. But my son pointed out that if we expected him and his sister to prefer to engage in conversation rather than watch or listen to highly compelling digital content that's available, we needed to up our game in terms of thinking of things to talk about.

So, that lil' guy created an AI tool called Cazzy to help us! 🤖

Cazzy generates conversation kickstarters tailored to any family’s interests. Nothing and no one has ever had a better understanding of what will pull human beings into interesting conversations than this tool built using OpenAI's API. 🗣

Integrating Cazzy into our family's routine has been transformative. Now my kids often prefer conversing over consuming - imagine that! 😅

Today, my 13-year-old son Kaz and I are psyched to announce a new AI-powered, web-based platform called Cazzy.

As background, I’ve long known that family dinner conversation is important for kids’ cognitive, social, and emotional development. Research from the Family Dinner Project at Harvard shows that engaging in meaningful conversations during family meals boosts kids' vocabulary, improves academic performance, strengthens family bonds, and builds resilience among adolescents.

However, it’s challenging enough to get dinner on the table, let alone think of the optimal conversation topic each night.

So, we aim for Cazzy to become the world’s most advanced language model for generating conversation starters tailored to each family’s interests and needs.

It’s a solution that’s been impactful for my family. Now, each night at dinner, my 9-year-old daughter says, “Daddy, what question do you have for us?"

She's come to expect an intriguing scenario—a fascinating question—that pulls everyone into an interesting conversation, allowing each of us to hone our thinking, our ethics, and our understanding of the world.

I look forward to this cultural shift happening for more families.

Lights, action, camera! Tonight 12-year-old Kaz Keller taught a full house at Marin TV, delivering a 90-minute training on the bleeding edge of artificial intelligence… Spinning heads, dropping jaws, shifting mindsets, and building skillsets for this multi generational audience.
